In no particular order, these are our picks for the top seven community and commercial aquatic centers in the United States.

1. The Gateway Aquatic Center, Ketchikan, Alaska

Don’t count Alaska out for fun water activities! This indoor aquatic center has both a recreational pool and a competitive pool. But it doesn’t just have two pools. The Gateway Aquatic Center also has water fountains, tube slides, spray faucets and dump buckets for added fun. Plus, this center offers fitness classes, swim lessons, senior therapy swims and more.

2. The Apex Center, Arvada, Colorado

This aquatic center is more like an indoor water park. It’s a 23,000-square-foot center with spas, a lap pool, an activity pool and a play pool. The activity pool features a waterfall and slides in addition to a vortex equipped with a moving current. The play pool has an area with fountains, waterfalls, geysers and slides. The lap pool is where fitness classes and swimming lessons take place. As you can see, there’s a little something for everyone at The Apex Center!

3. South Cobb Aquatic Center, Austell, Georgia

The South Cobb Aquatic Center has something for the whole family. The pool has both a shallow playground area and a deeper side with twisty slides. There’s plenty of room in this aquatic center for both recreational water activities and lap swimming. Plus, the South Cobb Aquatic Center offers swim lessons, aerobics classes and even lets you reserve the facility for private events (did someone say pool party?!).

4. The Water Works, Schaumburg, Illinois

The Schaumburg Park District Community Recreation Center created an indoor water park called The Water Works for its community. The Water Works includes a diving pool, lap pool, whirlpool, zero-depth entry pool, water slides, a rapid water channel, a water playground and more. People travel from all over the state for a chance to play at this indoor waterpark!

5. Germantown Indoor Swim Center, Boyds, Maryland

With a size of 60,000 square feet, this is one of the largest aquatic centers on our list. The Germantown Indoor Swim Center offers a leisure pool, a competition pool, hot tubs, a waterslide, a diving area and plenty of other fun water features. This aquatic center also has an on-site fitness center and lots of places to catch all the action from the pool observation sitting area.

6. Buffaloe Road Aquatic Center, Raleigh, North Carolina

This aquatic center has a little bit of everything, including a tot-sized play area and three lap lanes, to a water vortex and a lazy river! You can also hang out in the three-story waterfall, play water basketball or start a game of aquatic volleyball. Plus, Buffaloe Road Aquatic Center offers water exercise classes throughout the year.

7. Midco Aquatic Center, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

This aquatic center in Sioux Falls includes a 50-meter pool, outdoor splash pad, sundeck, warm-water pool and recreation pool. Speaking of the recreation pool, it has tons of fun features like water sprays, slides, a dumping bucket, a basketball hoop and a lily pad water crossing. With plenty of room to roam around, this aquatic center is a top choice for many families.
